“There are too many wonderful things to say about this nursery. Firstly from the moment I handed my first baby over at 9 months old I felt so welcomed, reassured and supported, that it made the transition for both of us so smooth. My first child was at the nursery for 3 years and I could never thank the staff enough for the support and genuine care they showed. Every transition was smooth and any concern that I had regarding her development was dealt was promptly and effectively. For example I was worried about my child’s stammering. After many telephone conversations on the phone, her 1:1 made a referral to SALT which resulted in us receiving the appropriate support she needed to overcome her struggles.
“My daughter had such an amazing start to her education journey that she was so prepared for school and is thriving. Not only do I love that the staff focus on their education but I have always recommended this nursery because they embed many qualities we value as a family to develop the ‘whole’ child for example manners, respect, independence and confidence.
“The communication has always been a strength as it has always been so personal, nothing is ever too much trouble and each member of the team will go out of their way to ensure all of the children’s needs are met.
“My son is currently in the toddler room and again is thriving. The staff have done many parent information meetings and have supported with us with questions regarding speech, toileting and behaviour. They have kept us up to date with new information such as the new 2 year checks process. They have invited us in to see the environment and have shared the activities that the children enjoy. It’s lovely to feel that they actually know and love my child which makes leaving him in their care so easy.
“This wonderful team have a fantastic setting and we feel privileged that our children have both attended. I will continue to recommend it to everyone I meet”.
“Headstart in Smallthorne is currently helping us with our third child. We have moved away since our first, but have insisted on making the extra journey with child 2 and 3 because we would be disappointed to bring them anywhere else!
“All the staff, and I mean all the staff, are always incredibly positive, professional and accommodating to our requests. Our children have presented their own challenges along the way, such as noisy tantrums or delayed walking, but they have remained committed to working on the next stage of development all the time and showing warmth and patience. You get the sense that there is real team work and support between them all and that they are managed in a highly positive and supportive way. Considering the work they do, it’s surprising that they never seem fed up or tired out. Smiles at the door seem genuine, not forced. Needless to say, our children have been happy going there.
“The facilities and resources just always seem ideal, especially in the summer time with shady trees outside, and our children come back shattered and hungry from such a challenging and busy day. There always seems to be such a variety of activities and foods.
“My wife and I could honestly not be happier or have any more peace of mind about our most recent – Charlie – going to Headstart as his brothers did. We are confident that you will see evidence of what I say tomorrow (today even), but what is truly remarkable is how consistently they have kept up these high standards over the last 9 years that we have come to them. Not once has there been even the slightest hiccup, and my wife is extremely hard to please. Believe you me.
